Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:     
The Transport Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is a professional who is primarily responsible for the provision of quality respiratory care, as well as for working collaboratively with the transport nurse in providing other patient care therapies for patients being transported to Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital and other designated hospitals.  The Transport Respiratory Care Practitioner functions under approved protocols, policies, and procedures and is supervised by the Transport Medical Director and attending physicians during inter-facility transport.  The core values of teamwork, respect and caring, effective use of resources and initiative are integrated comprehensively into the performance standards for the Transport Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Job Qualifications: 
Education:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of respiratory therapy.
 
Experience:
Three years of neonatal and/or pediatric intensive care clinical experience within the
last five years.  Experience in Neonatal and /or Pediatric transport preferred.
 
Licensure/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RCPRT) in applicable state. Current BLS, NRP, and PALs required.
Complies with Life Flight Network flight crewmember weight restrictions (Maximum 225 founds fully outfitted to perform the job).
