Job Description

Job Description: 
Toxicology Tech Specialist
 
Conduct routine and complex laboratory tests, interpretation of test results, instrument operation, in addition to supporting clients as they access laboratory services.  Oversees laboratory practices such as method development, research, procedure documentation, quality assurance, quality control monitoring, instrument maintenance, competency and proficiency programs, staff training, and preparing for various certification, licensure, and accreditation processes.
 
Job Qualifications: 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
Successful completion of the ASCP, AMT or CLS accreditation program for medical technologists plus a Bachelors degree in a chemical, physical, or biological or medical technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience is required. 
 
In addition at least 4 years of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing (as defined by CLIA'88) within the specialty. 
Certification in toxicology specialty area is required within one year of hire.
A Masters degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical terminology may be used in lieu of specialty certification, as appropriate.
