Job Description: 
Infection Control Practitioner
 
The Infection Control Practitioner performs infection prevention and control activities for the Legacy multi-hospital system, and other duties as assigned by the Manager.
 
Job Qualifications: 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or completion of American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) accreditation program for medical technologists. 
Experience:
Three to five years of hospital epidemiology preferred.
 
Licensure/Certification:
Current RN licensure by Washington and Oregon State Boards of Nursing, or completion of American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) accredited program with certification for medical technologists. 
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained within three years of hire into this position.
Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to elicit the cooperation of others, i.e. hospital and medical staff.  Ability to independently operate a personal computer with various software programs including the entire Microsoft Office suite of products (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Ability to educate adults.
