Interface Engine Programmer Analyst
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Interface Lead, responsible for the analysis, design, testing, implementation and maintenance of real-time and non-real-time HL7 interfaces using both the Epic Bridges and Cloverleaf interface engine toolset. Also participates in non-HL7 interfaces.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Three to five years experience in system analysis and design and in programming in either a scripting, procedural or object oriented language.
Certification:
Epic Bridges Certified.
Additional Experience:
Three or more years experience configuring and troubleshooting HL7 interfaces with Epic Bridges. Familiarity with HL7 messaging standards. Two or more years experience with shell, perl or tcl scripting on either Sun or AIX Unix. TCL is of particular interest. Experience with the Cloverleaf interface engine highly desirable. Experience with administering a Managed File Transfer Suite highly desirable.
Interface Development
Participates in the development and maintenance of all real time or batch interfaces between all application software at Legacy as necessary.
Demonstrates ability to define and implement interface specifications either alone or in conjunction with application analysts.
Demonstrates ability to use the Cloverleaf development tools.
Demonstrates ability to use Epic Bridges tools.
Demonstrates ability to write good TCL code.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to write complex joins to efficiently access data.
Demonstrated ability to use appropriate development tools to author and implement stored procedures for use by report authors and application programmers.
Ability to work with personnel of varying technical backgrounds and proficiencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and documentation abilities.
Able to work well in a team oriented environment as well as independently.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
Flexible in responding to rapid change and able to multi-task.
